CSIRO Chile at Expomin 2018-

-CSIRO Chile was present at the XV version of Expomin, which is one of the most important fairs of the world regarding mining exploitation, and that summoned 1300 companies from 63 countries. The Minerals team of CSIRO Chile exhibited a stand in Australia’s Pavilion, which was organized by Austrade, and where several meetings were held to present the innovations and capabilities of CSIRO through its local office in Chile.-

Expomin is of great relevance in both Latin American and global mining, and during the inauguration of the fair, the Mining Minister Baldo Prokurica emphasized the work of the current government in the promotion of projects and in reducing the complexity of permits for working in the sector. Ivan Arriagada, President of the XV version of Expomin, highlighted that “Chile must go back to being the pole of attraction for mining investment and must make the most of the price cycle which is favorable”. In this context, CSIRO Chile presented technologies such as Face Mapping, Slope Stability and Big Data Analytics in GeoResources and Mine Planning.

With concrete solutions, based on scientific research and applied to specific needs in the industry, CSIRO Chile seeks to support a more efficient, more productive mining, safer and aligned with the environment.
